It did not settle things. It opened a deluxe box set of further things, with bonus episodes no one remembers ordering.
A technology story promised a cleaner, faster, more frictionless way to do something humans had previously managed with moderate irritation.
The future did arrive. Then it asked for location access, a subscription, and permission to send notifications.
Investors put serious money into a company that said it would change an industry, possibly the world, and definitely the slide deck.
